Family Bibles

(The following transcription was sent to me from Kim Kester, who is the owner of this bible. Kim's comments (in blue) are listed together with the text from the bible.)

Eliasaph Russell Merriman b 23 Apr (he has 1877? 1801?, I think he was probably born in 1807) He is listed as Eliphalet R. on marriage records, marrying Juliana Hall 1 Jan 1835, but I think this is an incorrect name. He is listed as Russell in 1870 census (son Brice is living next door as a farm hand) (this should be nephew Verus/Brice- living next door- he would be the son of Otis Hamer & Mary I Merriman)

Hezekiah Otis b 30 Nov 1848 ( I believe this should be 1808). He married Phebe Hart 1 Jan 1833. He went by Otis.

Lydia Marietta b 2 Nov 1810. Married Jason Loomis 5 Nov 1828. She died 8 Nov 1851. She is listed as Marietta in marriage records, and Lydia Maritta in the family Bible.

Electa A. was born 17 Nov 1812, married Philo W. Churchill 19 Jun 1834, and died 1 Jan 1853.

Lorna was born 18 May 1814. She is listed as Lauretta in marriage records, when she married Cyrus H Streeter/Streater. She died 23 May 1847.

Perlina b 13 Mar 1816 and died 7 Feb 1819

Ogden Hamer was born 6 Oct 1817, he married Mary A. Doolittle. Mary died 3 Sept 1849. (Mary is not closely related to Nancy M. Doolittle listed below, as far as I have been able to tell)

Harlow Merriman b. 4 Jan 1820. He married Nancy (Doolittle), and died 19 Feb 1895 in Bangor (Van Buren County, Michigan) 75 yrs 1 month.

Orvis H. Merriman Grandson of Eliakim & Hannah Merriman born 2 Sept 1841 ( I think that this is possibly Verus listed above- if I find out differently, I will get corrected information to you)

Luther Merriman born 27 May 1844 (?) next to date

Eliakim Merriman died 16 Dec 1860 age 80 yrs 2 months

Hannah Merriman wife of Eliakim Merriman died 1866.
